Employment pathways in Taiwan

1. Professional and Technical Work

 

(1) Application Based on Standard Salary and Work Experience Requirements

     Foreign nationals must meet one of the following qualifications:

    1. Hold a relevant professional certificate or license; or
    2. Hold a bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of work experience, or hold a master’s degree or above (no work experience required for master’s degree holders); or
    3. Have worked for at least 1 year in a multinational enterprise and are assigned to Taiwan; or
    4. Have at least 5 years of relevant work experience without formal academic qualifications, and possess creativity or special achievements; in such cases, the monthly salary must reach NTD 47,971.

Overseas Chinese students, foreign students, and Hong Kong–Macao students who graduate from a Taiwanese college or university are exempt from the work experience requirement, but must still meet the minimum salary threshold.

 
(2) Scoring System for Foreign and Overseas Chinese Students Working in Taiwan
    Foreign, overseas Chinese, and Hong Kong–Macao students who obtain an associate degree or above in Taiwan may apply through the Points System.

    Applicants meeting a total score of 70 points or above (out of 200) are eligible.

 

Scoring Categories (8 Items):

      1. Academic qualifications
      2. Proposed salary
      3. Work experience and internship experience
      4. Professional certifications or qualifications
      5. Chinese language proficiency
      6. Other language skills or international mobility background
      7. Special contributions aligned with national policy
      8. Scholarships or outstanding academic performance

 

2. Program for Retaining Foreign Mid-Level Technical Personnel

Eligible Applicants:

    1. Senior migrant workers who have worked continuously in Taiwan for at least 6 years and possess mid-level technical skills.
    2. Foreign, overseas Chinese, or Hong Kong–Macao students who graduated in Taiwan with an associate degree or above.
      Available Mid-Level Technical Job Categories:
      (Please refer to official announcements or consult the office for the latest list.)

3. Employment in the Hospitality Industry

Important Notes:

  1. Overseas Chinese, foreign, or Hong Kong–Macao students who did not major in hospitality or tourism must complete 80 hours of practical training before engaging in hospitality-related work.
